Privacy in the room

The site keeps simple, private usage statistics for its owner: which programs run, their active running time, browser and operating system, device type, and approximate city, region, and country.

A random browser identifier is saved on this device for up to 90 days. It helps count returning devices. We do not store raw IP addresses, account names, typed text, BASIC listings, or uploaded filenames in activity records. Personal media is recorded only as “Personal disk / program.”

Program timing stops when you pause the computer, hide the tab, or leave the Play screen. Reports cover the last 90 days; older records are removed when new activity is recorded. Approximate location comes from the network connection, not your device’s location permission.

Anonymous activity is recorded automatically, including when the browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. No opt-in is required. “Clear data & restart” removes the browser identifier along with local Atari saves and settings; it does not erase previous anonymous activity records.

If you submit a problem report, its description, program title, site version and emulator error are stored privately for the owner. Reports use the same anonymous browser identifier for abuse limits, and expire after 90 days as new reports arrive. Screen contents and your BASIC program are not attached.

Optional phone controllers send button states, quick commands and the current program title and available controls through a dedicated Cloudflare relay. Each player’s eight-character code and a private computer credential are saved in this browser so the code stays the same across games and visits. “Clear data & restart” removes them. Pairing opens for ten minutes, and sessions last up to two hours. Disconnecting on the computer closes access until you open pairing again. The relay keeps the code and computer credential for 90 days after their last activation; it does not save input history, IP addresses or cookies.

Player profiles, favorites, disks, settings, and saved games are kept in this browser. If you choose “Continue on another device,” an encrypted copy of that saved computer is held by the relay for ten minutes, then automatically deleted. Its decryption key stays in the transfer link, not on the relay. Anyone you give the full link can receive that save. The receiving device asks for confirmation before importing it. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. Activity passes through a dedicated collector in the site owner’s Cloudflare account to obtain approximate city, region, and country. The records are stored with this site’s hosting service and are visible only to the site owner.
