# Apple computer sources

The emulator source licenses are included beside these files. Apple firmware, character ROMs and system software are separate historical Apple materials; the emulator licenses do not relicense them.

## Build and checks

The source archive includes the pinned emulator source archives and Studio adapters. Build the IIe with `node scripts/build-apple.mjs`. Build the IIgs with `EMCC=/path/to/emcc node scripts/build-apple-gs.mjs` (Emscripten 3.1.51). Run `node tests/apple-core.mjs` and `node tests/apple-gs-core.mjs` from the source root.

IIe: enhanced model, 128 KB, Disk II floppies. IIgs: ROM 3, 4 MB, 800 KB ProDOS floppies. IIgs disk loading is accelerated; active emulation returns to ordinary speed after disk activity.
